Grayson's View: Sheff Utd (a)

Grayson's View: Sheff Utd (a)
Simon Grayson looked back on the defeat at Bramall Lane at the weekend and said it was down to two key moments.

Preston lost the game 2-1 with Marc McNulty and Jamal Campbell-Ryce giving the home side a 2-0 lead.

Josh Brownhill gave Preston some hope towards the end of the game when he pulled a goal back through a brilliant free kick deep into injury time.

Preston had the better of the game, especially in the first half but they did not take their chances which lead to the Blades taking advantage in the second period.

Grayson told the Lancashire Post: "In the first half we were well and truly in it - I thought we controlled that part of the game.

"We kept the ball well but we needed to work their keeper more.

"In the second half, we were under pressure for 10 to 15 minutes and we did not handle that well enough, the result being that Sheffield United got their two goals.

"The first goal was a bit of a deflection over Thorsten Stuckmann which put us on the back foot.

"If we get the first goal in games we tend to be very hard to break down as previous results have shown. That didn`t happen this time.'

In the first half we were the better side no doubt about it but once they scored they were certain winners

I'd have said we were off par all the way through.
