Preston Pegged Back
Preston's Championship season continued with a one-one draw against Birmingham at Deepdale on Tuesday with the two-match winning run ended but it's still a good point but (unusually) one-goal did not prove enough, as a lead couldn't be seen out with another cleansheet.
Middlesbrough loanee Adam Reach, who was a constant threat to Reading at the weekend, put Preston ahead early on when his cross evaded everyone including Birmingham 'keeper Tomasz Kuszczak to see PNE ahead.
Birmingham were level at the midway point of the second half when Michael Morrison's header was cleared on the line by Sheffield Wednesday loanee Marnick Vermijl but not before it had crossed it.
The Blues could have won it through Demarai Gray but he couldn't hit the target when he ran through with Preston again thankful to Sunderland loanee Jordan Pickford as he saved from Gray, Jon Toral, James Vaughan and another Morrison effort.
When he was beaten by a Jacques Maghoma header the crossbar denied Birmingham and saved Preston who remain 16th place following this draw helping to keep PNE away from the bottom three.

Looking at these results the stand out ones (so far) have to be wins for Middlesbrough and MK Dons.
Whereas a reference has to be made to both Cardiff and Brighton, who lost two-goal leads! In the case of the Bluebirds though they recovered to beat Brentford three-two but the Seagulls had settle for a two-two draw with QPR that saw them lose top spot.
Middlesbrough's fine run (of cleansheets too) went on with a one-nil win over promotion rivals Burnley with this win at the Riverside Stadium seeing them claim the lead in the Championship ahead of the top of the table meeting with Brighton this weekend!
Play-off pushing Sheffield Wednesday saw their hopes suffer a setback with a surprise setback at MK Dons with Karl Robinson's side running out two-one winners to collect an important three-points at the Stadium:MK.
It'll be another full schedule this coming weekend, the final games ahead of Christmas.
