Vital Report - Charlton 0-3 Preston
Preston's Championship season continued with a win at Valley Parade against Charlton on Tuesday.
Not a bad way to secure a first win in 10-matches was it! An early goal from the returning Gallagher saw him added second before the break with a three-nil win, which took Preston above Charlton, secured when Johnson wrapped things up for PNE.

It was a perfect start for Preston, and the returning Gallagher (2) as he curled home a 20-yard freekick, given for a foul on Reach by Ba who had lost the ball to the Middlesbrough loanee winger then brought him down, to mark his return with a goal.
Having scored only seven-goals in the lead going into the game, Preston went closer to matching that tally in one game when Gallagher (36) added the second when he scored from a tight angle. Picking up the loose ball from his own corner when Charlton 'keeper Pope could only clear to the PNE captain.
Only the crossbar denied Preston a third, with Browne heading against this.
However, the third did come though just past the hour when Johnson (62) fired home. The former Villa man got to a loose ball ahead of Charlton Holmes-Dennis before smashing home an effort past Pope to make sure of the points.

A quite night for Pickford, who was rarely, if at all, threatened in the Preston goal.
Did a starter, or someone from the bench, offer the most?
