Vital Report - Preston 0-0 Cardiff City
Preston's Championship season continued with a draw at Deepdale against Cardiff on Saturday.
The return from the international break saw Preston claim something, which ideally as the home side you would want more but given the run PNE had been on before this a nil-nil draw will be taken.

There weren't too many first half chances, well too many chances in the game at all, with Hugill, fresh from his new deal, and Cunningham unable to hit the target for Preston in the opening half.
Cardiff's Mason seeing his effort blocked by PNE defender Clarke, which was the visitors best effort in the opening 45-minutes.
This could have changed when Cardiff should have gone ahead after the break but Ameobi, when he should have at least hit the target, volleyed over before Pilkington went close for the visitors to with Pickford forced save to deny Mason.
Only the crossbar prevented Preston from breaking through in the end though as Clarke headed a Gallagher, who returned after injury, against the woodwork.

Pickford was called into action again late on when he tipped a Whittingham's freekick wide with Hugill's unable to hit the target in injury-time with a header, which goes to show why Preston are the scorers in league!
