North End 3-2 Fleetwood Town
Preston's long-standing unbeaten run at Deepdale looked in real threat on Saturday afternoon until a second half fightback saw us beat Fleetwood Town.
At half time, with us two-nil down, we looked to be looking defeat square in the face but a 19-minute second half hat-trick from Joe Garner turned the game around to see us win 3-2 in the end.
Not even a minute was on the clock when Stephen Jordan (1) was able to convert an early Steven Schumacher corner, the defender heading home to put Fleetwood ahead.
Minutes later and the lead was doubled, a dangerous Antoni Sarcevic's cross was turned into his own net by Scott Laird (7) for an own goal to make it two-nil, which wasn't at all expected.
Not only was our unbeaten run, stretching back to December last year, under thread our run of six successive victories looked to be ending.
Paul Gallagher had two good first half chances, but couldn't take either as we went into the break two-down.
On the hour though Garner (60) pulled one back as he headed home Neil Kilkenny's cross, and then three-minutes later Garner (63) again was on hand to level it up as he headed home from a John Welsh cross.
Garner (79) saved his best until last as he volleyed home to complete a three-two comeback win, complete his hat-trick in under 20-minutes and make it a seventh straight win to put North End into the automatic promotion spots.
