Preston 3-3 Chesterfield
A positive from Tuesday is that our unbeaten home record, stretching back to December, remains intact but this should have been the case with us back to winning ways.
From a matching position, just 28-minutes in, Preston somehow managed to throw this away as Chesterfield stormed back from three-nil down to go away from Deepdale with a 3-3 draw.
A header from Alan Browne (7) and then Joe Garner (15) capitalising on a poor Daniel Jones header left us in complete control with just 15-minutes played, with us two-up.
It got even better when Josh Brownhill (28) was able to head home from close range to, at that point, it seemed all but secure us the three-points.
Chesterfield had other ideas though and when Eoin Doyle (31), fresh from his weekend hat-trick; pulled one back before the break to make it three-one fresh hope was restored.
As time ticked away Doyle (79) was on hand to convert Daniel Johnson's cross to really bring Chesterfield back into the game with a little over 10-minutes to play.
With the nerves frayed, but it still looking like we might hang on, with Garner adjudged to have handed in the area in injury-time the visitors had a chance to secure a point from the penalty spot.
Doyle (90) did just that to see the game end in an incredible three-three draw.
