Charlie Daniels second half penalty denied North End any points in the final game of the 11/12 season.

Bournemouth went close to taking the lead in the first minute after Lyle Taylor worked his way past the PNE defence and shot from 20 yards out, narrowly missing.

The pressure from Bournemouth continued and seven minutes later when Shaun MacDonald put a dangerous cross into the PNE box, Bournemouth striker Wes Thomas did not get a good enough connection to worry PNE goalkeeper Andreas Arestidou.

PNE's first chance came on the 20 minute mark when some good play by the whites allowed Paul Coutts to charge at the Bournemouth goal, Coutts worked his way past two Bournemouth defenders and shot from 20 yards out but his shot went wide.

Play was stopped shortly after when Bournemouth player Miles Addison looked to have a dislocated wrist, after five minutes of treatment he was able to play on.

Just before half time PNE came close after Mayor did a great through ball to Proctor, Proctor shot but the ball went wide.

North End came close again minutes later when Coutts held off two challenges and passed to Proctor, Proctor then rolled the ball back for Ehmer who did a great shot but Jalal Shwan was able to get his fingers to it and tap it out for a corner.

North End continued with the pressure and Ehmer had another chance at goal after Coutts whipped a cross into the box, Ehmer got his head on it but it landed right in the keepers hands.

The half time whistle followed and PNE went into the break on a high.

Four minutes into the second half Bournemouth were awarded a penalty when Donal McDermott was tripped by Clark. Charlie Daniels stepped up to take the spot kick and shot down the middle to give Bournemouth the lead.

With eight minutes to go Bournemouth should have got a second after Thomas broke the offside trap but luckily for North End he slipped before he could get in a shot.

Near the end of the game PNE came close to grabbing a late equaliser after Nicholson created some space on the right, Cummins was waiting unmarked in the box so Nicholson crossed it over, unfortunately the cross was over hit and the ball went over the Irishmens head.

The final whistle went and the last game of the season ended in a 1-0 defeat for PNE on the south coast.
