Deepdale

7/4/2012

Attendance: 13,946

Referee:

With a great atmosphere surrounding Deepdale on the day due to Sir Toms birthday it was all set up to be a cracking game, many video tributes were played before the game and at half time by a few football legends such as David Beckham, Bobby Charlton and Alex Ferguson.

The Dons took the lead in the 26th minute with a goal from Darren Potter, the goal undeserved as north End had dominated the opening 20 minutes.

North End came close to equalizing shortly after when Chris Holroyd's header hit the crossbar.

PNE grabbed a late equalizer when 19 year old Bailey Wright scored his first ever goal for the club in extra time to give North End a point.

All in all a pretty close game and one point a piece was a fair result, although North End will feel better off thanks to the late goal.

Star Player

Iain Hume was the official man of the match but, for me, it was Bailey Wright. He had a great game and you can see his confidence growing.
