Kelly Moves On
Alan Kelly had decided the time is right to leave Preston.
The first team coach, remaining part of the backroom staff despite Simon Grayson's exit for Sunderland and the arrival of Alex Neil, has called time on his North End career.
Kelly's long association with Preston, through his father and also his own playing and coaching career, would have continued had it not been for the fact the former goalkeeper decided to leave Deepdale.
A statement on the Official Website read: 'After a lifetime of association with Preston North End Football Club, both through his father and also Alan's own playing and coaching career, it is with disappointment, but also grateful thanks for his service that we announce that Alan Kelly has decided that his time as a member of the coaching staff at Preston North End has come to an end.'
It was made clear the decision was Kelly's alone and he was wished well.
Adding: 'This decision is solely Alan's and he will leave with our thanks and best wishes for the future. Alan, his wife Sara and family will always be welcome guests here at Deepdale.'
