Forward Can't Wait
The start of the season can't come soon enough for Callum Robinson, who was in good form during pre-season.
Preston get the Championship season underway against Sheffield Wednesday at Deepdale on Saturday and Robinson, scorer of three goals during the friendlies, is excited by the campaign ahead.
Robinson feels pre-season went well for North End telling the Official Website he's confident his teammates are as up for this, albeit under a change of boss, in Alex Neil, as himself.
'I'm really excited and looking forward to Saturday and even training already, I know there is a game at the end of the week which is good so I'm really looking forward to it. 'As a team I think we have been great through pre-season, we've won most games, we've been really good. We've obviously changed the style of how we want to play and we want to play more football and work out from the back but we can still be direct as well so I'm really enjoying it.'
Adding: 'I think the other lads are enjoying it as well so it's really good to be in the final third with the combination play, through balls and crosses and it's good at the moment.'
He went on to say there's 'a lot of competition' for places ahead of the visit from Wednesday but Robinson wouldn't want it any other way as this, in theory, should allow Neil the freedom to rotate players seamlessly, which will be needed.
Robinson said: 'We've got a lot of games coming up this month so there will probably be some rotation but the squad is really strong at the moment. It's going to be very tough, they've got some really good players with good creativity but I think what we've got is what matters and what we do. I think if we can bring what we've been doing pre-season and our fitness into that game then we will do great.'
Finishing by saying he's hopeful of Preston giving the Deepdale faithful plenty to be happy about in the season ahead, especially against the Owls to kick things off.
'As a player you love when the fans come out and they are supporting you and singing and backing you all the way which will be good for us and that will help us, not just for Saturday but throughout the season.'
