Browne In The Bag

Browne In The Bag

Doesn't actually sound too appealing that title does it? However, it is GOOD news as Alan Browne is in the bag, having signed a new contract.

On Thursday, Preston confirmed the Browne extension.

Browne, already under contract at Deepdale and not a player Preston had any immediate concerns about losing, has committed his long-term future to North End on a new three year deal.

The Republic of Ireland international, winning his first cap at senior level during the summer, will now remain a Lilywhites player until 2020, at least.

On his new deal he told the Official Website: 'I think every year since I've been here, I have agreed a new contract and it is great for me to know that the club is putting that confidence in me and hopefully I can return that to the club.'

He admits there have been ups and downs since his arrival from Cork City in January 2014 but overall the midfielder has progressed in Lancashire and aims to continue to do so under Alex Neil.

'I have come a long way since I joined. There have been a lot of ups and downs and it has just been great for me overall to progress like I have and now to continue to do so under the new manager is something exciting for me,' added Browne.
