Sound Record - Neil's A 'Good' Preston Appointment
Alex Neil is now settling into his new job at Deepdale.
He's been in place for a couple of weeks now and is, as you would expect, starting to really stamp his authority of the squad and put his message across as to how he wants Preston to perform going forward.
Those in the squad he inherited from Simon Grayson will soon, if they haven't had a clue already, have a better idea of who he could be leaning towards and who might not have such a prominent part to play in the season ahead.
Whatever, the appointment of former Hamilton and Norwich boss Neil, as successor for Grayson after he left for Sunderland, is seen as a 'good' one due to a 'good record' the Scot has.

How did you actually vote
Good - has a good record 58%
Unsure - can't judge yet 34%
Bad - went belly up at Norwich 7%
Ugly - not right for PNE 1%
Yes, in many ways it is tough to judge Neil as we've not been able to see Preston in competitive action over a sustained period but, aside from a wobbly spell in the Championship last season, which is why he was available to North End anyway, having been sacked by Norwich, he does have a good track record in his brief managerial career to date.
All being well Neil will get back to his best at Deepdale.
What about areas he needs to improve? Where does Neil most need to add to the squad he's taken on?
