Grayson To Sunderland Was Expected

Grayson To Sunderland Was Expected

Of course, Simon Grayson would have one day left Preston. If he didn't walk of his own accord - as proved the case - he would have been sacked, as is inevitable in football whatever you achieve at a club.

His achievements at Preston had quite understandably caught the eye of rivals clubs at Championship level. Rumour and speculation about this and that job hadn't amounted to anything until the Sunderland talk, which wouldn't go away.

Grayson, prior to an official approach, had played down the Sunderland link but the fact he wasn't 'ruling it out' left most of the opinion he was going to leave Deepdale, which he did.

What did the poll want to know?
Grayson to Sunderland?

How did you actually vote
Expected, he wasn't ruling it out 67%
Unexpected, I thought he'd stay 25%
Meh, it happens, we move on 8%

You can go around the houses all day long about the decision he made, if it was the right one or not, but for Grayson it was and best of luck to him.

Admittedly, I'm not sure if he's made the right choice as there's seemingly such a lack of stability at the Wearside club but when one of Sunderland's stature approaches it would be hard to turn down.

Like Grayson we move on and have already named former Hamilton and Norwich boss Alex Neil.

But what do we make of his appointment?

What do we want to know?
Alex Neil appointment

What can you actually vote?
Good - has a good record
Bad - went belly up at Norwich
Ugly - not right for PNE
Unsure - can't judge yet
