Neil Appointment Within 24 Hours?

The 'vacancy' sign at Deepdale will soon be coming down as Alex Neil will become the successor to Simon Grayson within the next 24 hours, according to Sky Sports.

Neil, out of work since leaving Norwich in March, was reportedly interviewed on Monday along with the other candidates.

Preston have decided the former Hamilton boss is the man to replace Grayson. Sky Sports reports, on his potential appointment, Neil 'is their chosen candidate, and a formal announcement could come soon.'

Having endured a difficult season in the Premier League, taking Norwich into the topflight via the play-offs in 2015 after being appointed at Carrow Road in January of that year, Neil parted company with the Canaries last season with his side well adrift of the top-six.

Aside from a failure to keep Norwich in the Premier League and the disappointment of last season in the Championship, Neil's early exploits as a boss have seen the former midfielder enjoy success so this would appear, on the face of it, a good appointment at Preston? Assuming he is indeed installed.
