Manchester United Forwards Arrival Confirmed
Rumoured to be showing an interest in Josh Harrop recently, Preston have completed the signing of the talented Manchester United forward.
Having turned down the new deal offered at Man United, making his goalscoring first team debut against Crystal Palace in May, Preston have paid a 'significant undisclosed compensation agreement' for Harrop.
A four year contract will officially kick in on 3rd July.
Harrop, who said he was 'buzzing' after signing his deal, told the Official Website: 'I'm delighted to be here, it's a new start for me to get things going in my career and I'm buzzing to get playing and to make an impact in the team. Hopefully I can achieve my aims and ambitions that I have set myself by coming here and that's to get promoted with Preston North End and help the club get as high as we can.'
Simon Grayson, making Harrop, 21, his third signing of the summer revealed Preston had seen off a lot of attention the forward was gaining and North End had to move quickly to clinch his signature.
The boss added: 'Josh is a player who has attracted a lot of interest this summer and we had to move quickly to secure his signature. He adds to our group of hungry young players who want to progress and we are looking forward to working with him and seeing him improve.'
Harrop, top goalscorer in Man United's reserve side last season with 10 goals in 25 appearances, follows Cork City's Sean Maguire and Norwich goalkeeper Declan Rudd in coming to Deepdale.
