North End Duo In Demand
Preston pair Ben Pringle and Greg Cunningham are being linked with Deepdale exits this summer.
Signed from Fulham last summer, Pringle doesn't have a future at Preston so Simon Grayson almost certainly wouldn't stand in his way should rumoured interest from a couple of unnamed League One clubs amount to anything.
The former Derby midfielder had previously been linked with a return to Rotherham, who were relegated from the Championship last season so fit the League One bill.
Pringle, 27, found himself behind Aiden McGeady, Tom Barkhuizen, Callum Robinson, Daryl Horgan, Ben Pearson, Paul Gallagher, Alan Browne and Daniel Johnson in his battle to find a place in midfield. However, he has two years left on his three year deal signed last summer.
A player Grayson would be far less willing, likely in fact, to leave Deepdale is former Bristol City and Nottingham Forest left back Greg Cunningham, who has been linked with Cardiff as far as reports from the Daily Mirror as concerned, via Wales Online.
Cunningham, 26, a regular in recent years, missed only seven Championship games last season but the performances of the former Manchester City academy graduate will always attract attentions of others.
Irishman Cunningham is under contract for another year and would be a player Preston would look to tie down to a longer-term deal you would think, if Cardiff did step up interest North End wouldn't give him up without a fight.
