Preston Turn Down Ipswich's Hugill Offer
Preston striker Jordan Hugill has been subject of an approach from Championship rivals Ipswich according to the Lancashire Evening Post
These reports claim Ipswich had offer around £1.5m for Hugill - who is having his best run in the Preston side this season - but this wasn't an offer the Lilywhites were prepared to entertain.
Hugill - who only signed a new contract with the Lilywhites in September that takes him through until the summer of 2019 - was signed from Port Vale in 2014 when a compensation fee was agreed with Vale for the striker when he reached the end of his contract.
A knee injury in his first season set him back but he's gone in to make 65 appearances in total for Preston. He's has scored six goals in his 27 games so far this season.
Despite the fact Preston have offloaded Joe Garner - to Rangers - and Bailey Wright - to Bristol City - this season the club are keen to retain as many key players as possible. These players had expressed a desire to leave Deepdale.
If Preston are to sell Hugill the Ipswich bid for the 24 year old would have to be significantly higher.
