Leicester's Gally Back At Deepdale

Leicester's Gally Back At Deepdale

The rumours began several weeks ago, but went quiet as quickly as they started really.

Paul Gallagher has returned to Preston though for another loan spell, and will be with us until the start of the new year.

He's been very much on the outside looking in at Leicester this season; in fact the 29-year-old hasn't made a first team appearance for them.

Gallagher's experience can't be doubted, nor can his quality as he has plenty of previous playing at premier league and championship level so Simon Grayson looks forward to welcoming him into the fold at Deepdale.

He told the official website: 'We felt that we wanted to improve the squad and looked at certain positions and areas of the pitch that we could strengthen and Paul is obviously an experienced Championship player, played in the Premiership and can play in a variety of positions.'

If Gally can have the impact at Deepdale that he did during a six-month loan spell several years back we'll not go far wrong.

It's interesting that Grayson have moved to strengthen in an attacking area and it'll make the competition for places even fiercer following Iain Hume's comments earlier this week about how the competition is good and will benefit all concerned.

Four has now become five though fighting for limited places...
