Tale Of Two Pens

Tale Of Two Pens

The penultimate pre-season friendly that Preston would be playing ahead of the new season ended with victory at Hartlepool on Friday night.

At the midway point of the first half at Victoria Park Preston were awarded a penalty, so had the chance to take the lead. Joe Garner stepped up and dispatched the spot kick.

Early in the second half one of Hartlepool's summer signing Jack Compton was brought down in the box and the hosts awarded a penalty of their own. Compton himself stepped up but Thorsten Stuckmann was equal to this and palmed it away.

1-0 was enough for the Lilywhites.
