Preston Fightback For A Point

Preston 1-1 Portsmouth
29th March 2013
17:00
Deepdale

Preston managed to force a late equaliser against Portsmouth on Friday evening to ensure that the Deepdale encounter saw the points shared.

It was Portsmouth that broke through first, a third goal in as many games from teenager Jed Wallace (3) giving them an early lead.

Preston were denied by the bar and the post, being unlucky not to be level at the break.

The visitors almost extended their lead in the second half but Declan Rudd, who allowed the opener to creep under him, kept Johnny Ertl's effort out.

Simon Eastwood made a couple of smart saves to keep Pompey ahead, who looked on for a fourth win in March, but a first goal in five-years when he let fly from range from Keith Keane (77) saw The Lilywhites secure a 1-1 draw late on.
