'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Westley Pays The Price

The seemingly inevitable parting of the ways of Preston and Graham Westley happened on Wednesday.

Westley had come under increasing pressure following a run of seven games without a win, coupled with the miserable form at Deepdale The Lilywhites have suffered for most of the season.

Tuesday's defeat against Yeovil, despite taking the lead, saw time run out for the former Stevenage boss with him sacked, the following official statement was released: 'The board felt that a change of manager was the only way forward.'

The 44-year-old has been in charge of Preston for 13-months and had constantly vowed not to walk away from his post.

Managerial changes are the norm with Preston these days; his departure makes it a fourth season in a row that a change in managers has taken place!
