Colchester 1-0 Preston

Weston Homes Community Stadium

Preston continue to struggle, with the pressure cranked upon Graham Westley as a result, with them suffering another defeat when they lost at Colchester on Saturday.

Both sides were denied by the keepers in the first half, Preston's Thorsten Stuckmann saving Freddie Sears' effort onto the post.

Early in the second half, having gone close again before this, Sears (55) broke the deadlock to hand Colchester the lead.

Preston pushed for an equaliser but saw Lee Holmes denied by the bar, with the hopes of a comeback dashed when Bailey Wright was sent off late on. Colchester held on to win 1-0.
