Preston dramatically beaten in injury-time

Coventry 3-2 Preston
Johnstone's Paint (Northern Semi Final)
10th January 2013

Ricoh Arena

Preston's dreams of Johnstone's Paint Trophy glory were shattered in dramatic injury-time fashion against Coventry at The Ricoh on Thursday night.

Minutes before the half time break Coventry broke the deadlock to go into this ahead through Steve Jennings (41).

With the aid of a bit of a deflection Luke Foster (67) drew Preston level at the midway point of the second half and looked to have won it when another deflection allowed Stuart Beavon (80) to put the visitors ahead 10-minutes from time.

Deep into injury-time Carl Baker (90+3) looked to have sent the game into a penalty shootout to determine the northern area finalists but Coventry had other ideas with Leon Clarke (90+4) winning it for Coventry 3-2!
