A first win in nine league one matches was secured by Preston on new years day when they beat bottom of the table Hartlepool.
Hartlepool started the game well, with confidence gained from a recent win over highflying Sheffield United, and could have been ahead before Preston were awarded a penalty. Nicky Wroe saw this saved so a goal less half looked on...
That was until John Mousinho (45+2) scored in first half injury-time to give the visitors the lead.
Preston held onto the first half goal to start 2013 with a 1-0 win.
