Preston end 2012 with Deepdale hammering

Preston 0-3 Doncaster
29th December 2012

Deepdale

Many Preston fans will be happy to see the back of 2012 as the latter stages of this have been poor at Deepdale, compounded by a heavy home defeat by Doncaster on Saturday.

It took a little over a minute for Doncaster to open the scoring through Dave Syers (1) and by the half hour mark the game was virtually over when David Cotterill (30) added the second.

Preston had a few second half chances but without any being converted there was no way back, with a 3-0 win for the visitors secured when Billy Paynter (76) scored from the penalty spot.
